Queen Aliquippa
Bred by Ongweh Ias and named after the last clan mother to live within the hills of Ongweh's birthplace near pittsburgh PA, Queen Aliquippa is a large, pear-shaped, green when ripe tomato, which can develop a bronze hue to the skin when really ripe. These are some of the best tasting tomatoes out there, being sweet, fruity, and well balanced. The flesh holds up well for slicing, but they also roast well and make a fastastic green roast tomato paste! Plants are PL, strong and highly productive.
Indeterminate plants are vigorous plants with a vining tendency. They set their fruits at intervals along their stems, and will readily grow side shoots and suckers (shoots from ground level). They need good, strong support, and it is advisable to remove the majority of the side shoots and suckers unless you have plenty of space and fertile soil to allow them to grow to their full potential.See the guide on pruning indeterminates in the resources section of the website for tips.
