An heirloom which is particularly dear to me… Old Ivory egg is the first tomato that really made an impression on me as a child. It has fallen out of favour, so seeds have been very tricky to track down, and the ones I finally got hold of were almost impossible to germinate (not the fault of the variety!) So I am delighted to be able to offer seeds of this cream coloured large cherry/small salad tomato, with a really extraordinary flavour. “White” tomatoes have earnt a reputation for being low on flavour, but that is not the case with Ivory egg! Fruity, juicy, with smooth, sweet flash, and sharp, tangy seed gel, it leaves your mouth watering, reaching for another one! This is a forever grow for me!
Indeterminate, regular leaf, does well outside, mid season production
Indeterminate plants are vigorous plants with a vining tendency. They set their fruits at intervals along their stems, and will readily grow side shoots and suckers (shoots from ground level). They need good, strong support, and it is advisable to remove the majority of the side shoots and suckers unless you have plenty of space and fertile soil to allow them to grow to their full potential.
