This is a classic French heirloom, that is often misunderstood. Marmande is a semi-indeterminate tomato, meaning that it will set fruit in trusses, successionally along its stems like an indeterminate, but will regularly terminate those stems with a flower truss, instead of keeping on going indefinitely. In order to get a good crop from Marmande, do not prune it! You need at least 3-4 leaders, but it does best just left to its own devices, and supported in a tomato cage. Small beefsteak fruit with a classic old-timey flavour.
