A 2025 release from Wild Boar Farms, Justin’s Fire Opal is a round to oval saladette, which is both tasty and versatile, as well as being a real headturner! With its bright pink flesh and unnusual freckles, this tomato really stands out. I grew it outdoors, and it far exceeded my expectations, producing masses of fruit in poor soil. Flavour is assertively tomatoey, it is great for slicing, salads, soups, sauces. This cross was first discovered at Justin Davis’s farm, Neanderthal Farms in Fair Oaks California

Indeterminate plants are vigorous plants with a vining tendency. They set their fruits at intervals along their stems, and will readily grow side shoots and suckers (shoots from ground level). They need good, strong support, and it is advisable to remove the majority of the side shoots and suckers unless you have plenty of space and fertile soil to allow them to grow to their full potential.
