Jarson 12/1

£4.85

Of Polish origin, the Jarson series are named after their breeder, who goes by the same name. He is known for creating complex crosses which can produce fantastic varieties, but they are also known for being somewhat unstable. Jarson 12/1 seems to be stable in our garden, after two seasons of growing.

The plants are strong, regular leaf and indeterminate. The fruits are breathtakingly ribbed and striped, and make brilliant fresh eating tomatoes, or can be used in sauces.

Indeterminate plants are vigorous plants with a vining tendency. They set their fruits at intervals along their stems, and will readily grow side shoots and suckers (shoots from ground level). They need good, strong support, and it is advisable to remove the majority of the side shoots and suckers unless you have plenty of space and fertile soil to allow them to grow to their full potential.See the guide on pruning indeterminates in the resources section of the website for tips.
