Henry Harrington was one of New Zealand’s great seed savers, he amassed a hge collection of seeds during his life which were gifted to Kōanga and many of which are very significant varieties in the Kōanga collection. Henry lived and gardened in Southland but many are the original seed lines he has saved from his grandparents (de Malmanche) garden at Akaroa which was there from the days of French settlement. Henry Harrington’s micro dwarf is considered to be one of them.
20cm determinate plants produce some of the very best tasting fruit you can find. This is an absolute must grow!
Micro dwarf plants are a really rewarding addition to your garden, and because of their small size they can be happily grown in a 2lt pot, outside your front door, in a window box or on a balcony. They can even be grown indoors, through the winter, on a sunny windowsill (although for best growth, some grow lights will help). They come in many different colours, flavours and leaf types, so as well as being delicious and productive for their size, they are also decorative.
Sow all year round indoors, plant out when all risk of frost has passed.
10-15 open-pollinated seeds
