A new creation from Heide Schmaltz-Dolan of Twine and Trellis.
Heide says: A 2024 Introduction, Mid season Regular leaf plants producing 4-7 oz fruit. A prolific wonderful tomato from a bee cross in my garden of the Carbon tomato. HWG is a RL, not overly tall plant that is prolific with maroon fruit with brown overtones sometimes with darker shoulders. These are great salad tomatoes and fantastic for fresh eating. The plant is a workhorse and these attractive tomatoes rarely make it inside. They have a sweet, smoky flavor. Exclusive to Twine and Trellis.
Indeterminate plants are vigorous plants with a vining tendency. They set their fruits at intervals along their stems, and will readily grow side shoots and suckers (shoots from ground level). They need good, strong support, and it is advisable to remove the majority of the side shoots and suckers unless you have plenty of space and fertile soil to allow them to grow to their full potential.
