I am delighted to present to you Gijesa (pronouced GeeJaysa), a delightful new micro bred by Ongweh Ias (aka Phil Seneca of Good Mind Seeds, USA). As the UK’s only source for Ongweh’s tomatoes, being able to offer a brand new micro dwarf is particularly special. Gijesa is the spirit of the night sky in Ongweh’s native tongue, the Seneca language. Growing to roughy 25cm, it produces gorgeous yellow and antho cherries with a pointed end, which taste fruity, sweet, and pop in your mouth making the most fantastic snacking tomato. It is not a sprawling tomato, staying very compact, so would be a great one for winter cultivation.
Micro dwarf plants are a really rewarding addition to your garden, and because of their small size they can be happily grown in a 2lt pot, outside your front door, in a window box or on a balcony.They can even be grown indoors, through the winter, on a sunny windowsill (although for best growth, some grow lights will help).They come in many different colours, flavours and leaf types, so as well as being delicious and productive for their size, they are also decorative.
Sow all year round indoors, plant out when all risk of frost has passed.
