I suppose you could describe this plant as a very large cascading determinate. Don’t put it in a hanging basket. I initially tried to support the stems growing upwards but they are very long and wispy, and actually it is much happier if you let it flop. It needs support, tying in, maybe a tomato cage/frame would work best. Anyway, however you grow it… Grow it!
Fruits are large plums with a long, curved bottom. They are red with gold stripes, which intensify as the fruit ripens. It is a really beautiful tomato, and the flavour was very good. On the sweet side, and full flavoured. Theses are brilliant, and despite the plant being the floppiest thing in the garden, I will definitely grow it again.
Determinate plants have a bushy habit and should not be pruned.They will set all of their fruit at the same time, at the end of each branch.Smaller determinates, under 1m or so, will be happy in a 12-14lt pot, and are very well suited to planters and raised beds.They are great plants to have outside the back door, for casual snacking as well as bringing indoors to use.
