A Tomato Lab exclusive micro dwarf! Beginning its life as the round brown cherry tomato Cocoa F1, I have grown out a number of generations to bring you this unique, cascading micro dwarf, which does very well in a small pot or hanging basket (the pot pictured has two plants in it). At only 25cm tall, with very compact growth, you have a to look hard to find the fruit, but it is worth the search. Plants produce all season long, giving elongated, mahogany coloured cherry tomatoes with gold and green stripes. Flavour is excellent, being rich, sweet and tangy, as is typical of a brown or purple tomato, and the texture is firm and pleasing. They are thin skinned but rarely split.
Plants have shown to be stable in our trials but splits are still possible in the F5 generation.
Micro dwarf plants are a really rewarding addition to your garden, and because of their small size they can be happily grown in a 2lt pot, outside your front door, in a window box or on a balcony. They can even be grown indoors, through the winter, on a sunny windowsill (although for best growth, some grow lights will help). They come in many different colours, flavours and leaf types, so as well as being delicious and productive for their size, they are also decorative.
Sow all year round indoors, plant out when all risk of frost has passed.
