Chico III is an elongated, paste type tomato, which grows on a determinate, very heavily cropping plant. These have dry flesh and are ideally suited to making sauces, keeping the boiling time much lower. Flavour is of a good old fashoined red.
Determinate, early, extremely productive.
Determinate plants have a bushy habit and should not be pruned. They will set all of their fruit at the same time, at the end of each branch. Smaller determinates, under 1m or so, will be happy in a 12-14lt pot, and are very well suited to planters and raised beds. They are great plants to have outside the back door, for casual snacking as well as bringing indoors to use.
