Bonte Tigret

£4.25

Bonte Tigret is a lovely compact plant of about 25cm. It has stunning, chartreuse, lime green leaves so is very decorative in its own right and makes a lovely addition to a border or window box. It produces well for its size, giving several flushes of red cherries with gold stripes, which each have a slight point on the end. A variety from the Netherlands, which was introduced in the Seed Savers Yearbook by well respected seed collector Luc Fichot in 2006.

Very similar to Tigerette Red, but having tested it in open ground this year, it definitely doesn’t get as big. I would happily grow this indoors.

Micro dwarf plants are a really rewarding addition to your garden, and because of their small size they can be happily grown in a 2lt pot, outside your front door, in a window box or on a balcony. They can even be grown indoors, through the winter, on a sunny windowsill (although for best growth, some grow lights will help). They come in many different colours, flavours and leaf types, so as well as being delicious and productive for their size, they are also decorative.

Sow all year round indoors, plant out when all risk of frost has passed.

Height Band A

10-15 open-pollinated seeds
