A chance cross from Ananas Noire, discovered in the garden of Lauren Blanchard-Zalewski (aka Mrs. Tomato Head), of New Jersey, USA, and subsequently stabilised by her and her husband. Bananas Noire is the little, loud, fruity cousin that nobody invited, but everybody loves. Imagine the gorgeous flavour of those big, juicy, tricoloured beefsteaks, packed into a bitesized cherry tomato! This variety is now stable, after several generations of hard work, and is therefore an open-pollinated, modern heirloom.
Indeterminate, regular leaf, early - mid season
